Happy Independence Day to one
and all! Watch out for those fireworks!
The year is already more than half over and
we felt like we just got through saying Happy New Year!
We would like to mention
our very good friends Wilbur and Lois Pike whose “Celebration of Life Party” we’ve done for so many Summers
and who’ve come to see us consistently over the years. Wilbur’s son Andrew passed away unexpectedly last Friday,
and we mourn his loss and send our deepest sympathy. We will miss you Andrew….
Our prayers go out
to the family of Gail Smith, an absolutely stellar human being who resided at Masonicare. He wrote the
most beautiful letter to us after we sang there. He would have a present for us both every time we were
there! Flowers and candy…what a wonderful caring man. We just found out he had
passed about a week ago. Wish we’d known sooner. He will be missed…..
Nan was so looking forward to singing there this month to tell him she’d finally gotten an appointment with the
doctor he’d suggested…….
More prayers to The Espinosa Family for their dear Eleanor passed away two weeks ago.
We played at their 60th wedding anniversary party a few years back and would see them at The Danbury Rotary functions…and
they would always dance. A beautiful couple indeed. We would always tease them about
playing at their 70th!
Agent Johnny Parris who has been in the business forever, passed away
on Tuesday after his dialysis, and we wish his family and friends our heartfelt condolences. We also want
to thank him for all he has done for us over the years.
For those of you who are concerned about Nan’s
throat, and have asked to be kept posted on the situation, she finally has an appointment with the doctor of her choice at
the end of August. Let’s see what happens next!
We
hope to see you soon and we will miss you until we do!
Nick & Nancy “AFTER ALL”
JUNE
OVERVIEW
June was busy as Junes usually are and we started out the month with SONO Boat Club, in South
Norwalk, Testo’s in Bridgeport, where Diane showed up with her smiling face for moral support, and
an “Escapades Singles” Dance the first weekend, where they danced up a storm! They get up for
the first song and never sit down…..now that’s what we like! They are fun because we get to
do such a broad scope of music. We’re already booked with them for this month and the following.
We’ve become part of their family too!
We had a blast at Tracey & John’s Wedding(Tracey was so beautiful and John so
handsome….they looked like the bride & groom on a cake!) the second weekend along with the glorious group of people
who come to The Hawthorne Inn. Thank you again classmates and everyone. You make
our nights there very special and we totally look forward to being there again next week! We will see you
then, and hopefully the month after, and the month after that……
The third weekend
we enjoyed Carlito’s and on Saturday, playing for our good friend Rose’s 40th Class reunion for The Woodbury HS
Class of 1970! So much fun talking to Rose and Dan!
The last weekend we were more than happy to
yet again play for the Rotary Gavel Dinner in Danbury (How many years has it been?) and Rosie’s in Meriden, where our
Wilbur and Lois came along with our high school buddies.
Nan had five assisted living/senior day care
gigs, which she enjoys more and more (sometimes Nick comes along for the fun!) Talk about people who appreciate
music…..
Here’s hoping for another round of fun in July!!
