How
is everyone?? Sorry this schedule is being sent last minute, but we had a gig last night and
wanted to get every last little detail into the July overview!
It's been a steamy week and
we've been bringing our "biggest fan" to all of our jobs...our electric standing fan!
You'll
probably see it the next time you see US! Even with air conditioning, it's still been warm in the clubs..and
you KNOW how Nan hates the heat! By the time Nick thinks it's hot, Nancy is ready to keel over!
Some wonderful
announcements....Mark and Karen P.have become grandparents for the first time! Meg and Jason are the proud parents of a beautiful
little girl named Riley! Also...the 3rd grandchild(a granddaughter) for Mary Ann and Denny(two of the notorious
Danbury crew!) and would you believe...named Riley also and beautiful as well! CONGRATS from Uncle Nick
and Aunt Nancy!
We will see you soon....we're counting the minutes!!

"AFTER ALL"
JULY OVERVIEW
It was a nice month. Some different venues to try, which
is always good...or bad!
First we want to thank Doug and Karen for allowing us to play at their wedding
reception! We had a really great time and lots of people were dancing, which is one of our aims in life!
They both looked so smooooth in their gown and tuxedo and, as we'd never seen them so dressily attired, we now
know how well they clean up! HAHA! Doug was a year ahead of us in school and it was
such a pleasure to see him find happiness with Karen! YAY! (and in Doug's own words
in his lovely, sentimental speech to his guests..."I never cared about ya...EVER!!!!).
We were
at The Waterbury Country Club....but very few showed up! It was very warm and so many people were on vacation
that we even got to leave for home early...and THAT doesn't happen too after at all. We can count on one hand, the number
of times we were allowed to do that! Hopefully we can go back another time because it is a beautiful venue.
We played
the Bria lee Campground, which we haven't done in AGES! We were indoors along with Joey, a bass player.
It was really nice to have that to fill out our sound! Especially when Nan sang the disco song "Boogie
Woogie Oogie" and came to the line that said "Listen to my bass man" and there really WAS a bass man right
next to her!
Nan did a solo gig at The Day Club in Middletown and had some trouble with her wiring, but
kept singing away all the same. What are ya gonna do??? The show must go on!
We played
Mickey's in Hamden for the first time. There was a concert on the green a block away so everyone was there...PLUS....the
air conditioner went out and it was an OVEN in there! It's always somethin'! Joan
& Jim were there with friends to support us.....so they are STILL our #! fans(right up there with the electric one!!).
Leon's
in New Haven was more fun than expected as some friends showed up to cheer us on. It was Gary( "Mr
AT&T") and wife Connie with daughter Cara and future Son-In-Law Tom. We just today got the news
that Cara and Tom want us for their wedding reception next March...another very special YAY indeed!
We also
played Testo's in Bridgeport...haven't been in awhile either. It was rather quiet so we rehearsed
and had fun like we do when there's no one there! July is a tough month! Sorry...no
one is allowed to go on vacation in July...from now on it MUST BE in January!
We were at the City Hall Cafe
in Waterbury, out on the deck. It was a warn night, but there were some very special people....thank God
for those of you that show up and make us feel sooo good, plus remind us why we do what we're doing!
We did
our usual stint(minus Friday night) at The Water's Edge in Westbrook and my adopted sisters Shirl and Joan were there
with my adopted Brothers-in Law, Tom and Jim....and many other faces(YOU KNOW who you are!)we were extremely glad to see and
met still others who promised to come see us elsewhere!
Last night we spent an hour and one half at The Phelps-Hathaway
House Garden in Suffield, where we played to a wonderful group of people and some even danced, which doesn't normally
happen at those functions...it was so nice! (BUT REALLY REALLY HOT...but it's better than ice and snow...maybe!)
Please
come to see us this month and KNOW that when you're not there we do notice and miss you!
2009 is beginning
to book so if you are planning a party and would like us to be there for you, please let us know. We don't
